Comb Murex in macro

I first saw one of these improbably dramatic shells in Australia in 1997, was entranced, and finally managed to acquire a specimen of my own a few years later.

Photographed on a frosted-glass table with my new Nikon D7100 and my Dad's 60mm macro lens.  Auto Equalize filter in GIMP.  That's it really.
